Oversight on the Trump administration Jan-Feb 2019

The House of Representatives is vigorously pursuing investigations on Trump. One is the security clearance of Jared Kushner who lied on his first form and then took many weeks or months to turn in new forms with all of his foreign contacts. Elijah Cummings is overseeing this investigation.

Will a new federal government shut down happen? We shall see. It is apparent that Trump continues to not want to negotiate but spoke double-talk in the state of the union speech. He talked about unity. Actions speak louder than words. I say.

The peril of repealing arms control treaties

Is this evidence that Trump is on Putin’s side or that trump fights against Putin? I, personally advocate for nuclear reduction and I think that that the US should take lead on this. I have made it a point on my suggested party movement/party.

The danger of all-out nuclear war is two-fold.  One is that a leader of a nuclear-armed nation may launch a first strike in hope that the target nation will not be able to retaliate.  The other is that the leader of a nuclear-armed nation may think another nuclear nation has launched or plans a first strike.

Although neither the American and the Soviet/Russian governments has been willing to give up the option of all-out war, the two governments have over the years made treaties to make all-out war less likely.

But since the dawn of the 21st century, the U.S. government has moved backwards.  President George W. Bush withdrew from the anti-ballistic missile treaty in 2002.  President Donald Trump has announced the U.S. will withdraw from the INF (intermediate nuclear force treaty.  There is a possibility that the…

Big Pharma in the US

This article is about a couple who is taking on the strategy of big pharma. They cite,
“These kinds of companies have a monopoly on the regulatory system, on the delivery system, on the products,” Laura says in the piece. “So, this isn’t capitalism.”

They talk about the pharmaceutical companies fighting to lengthen the patent laws on new drugs, from 28 years to 38 years. Also, that big pharma defends themselves by saying that Americans pay the list prices. The couple, however, counters that the employers’, insurer’s and individuals’ payments to pay for these prescription, all add up to a great deal of money. Big pharma argues that the research costs a lot to develop new drugs.

I say that reasonable laws and that make prescriptions more affordable are needed. This couple has very good ideas.

The shutdown of early 2019 continues, today 1-15-19, the wall

I know someone who is a federal employee. They are not getting paid and not forced to work like the TSA agents and the fed prison correctional officers, and others.

The fact of the matter, according to many experts who have knowledge about protecting borders, there are better and more cost- effective ways to protect a border. A wall can be scaled. Trump does not care about raising the taxes on the middle class to get that damn wall built. I believe in a secure border. Also he lies about the drugs. Most of the drugs are coming by boats, per the experts. The illegal drugs coming across the border are usually in vehicles at legal ports of entry and the customs officials catch a lot or most of it with sophisticated technology.

I just read that the number of illegal people trying to come to the USs by boats has increased dramatically. A few years ago it was a few hundreds per year. Now this past year, it was around 1500. I think that its what the article, I read, said. Most were from central America and Mexico. And some were from Asia, I think. People will pay many thousands of dollars to smugglers to come here. The smugglers are evil and let people die; as long as they get their money from desperate people, they could care less.

Supply and demand is what brings the people to our southern borders. The epidemic of AMERICAN DRUG ADDICTS ARE THE SUPPLY. There are other factors, such as bribery of officials in those countries south of us. Trump never mentions those items. He only mentions that we must stop the drug flow and to stop the emergency caravans. If the drug addicts are still in our country; the drug flow will change very little.

We, in the US have huge drug king pins who work with the Cartel king pins to work out the supply.

Underground, illegal capitalist efforts are nurtured by greed. If the reduction of drug addicts cannot be stemmed, people like Trump still does not want a few more of these desperate people to have a path to citizenship.

The early proof of Trump’s racism is he and his dad not following the civil right acts, in NYC. They were taken to court for not renting to blacks and Latino-Americans. Trump never brought in the documentation. In fact, his managers had a code, marking a minority person’s application so that they would not be rented to. Trump was given contempt of court and later Trump sued the court for contempt of court. He was slapped on the wrist and his money and lawyers got him out of it.

news that h.u.d. has worsened its oversight of landlords under Ben Carson

It was on the television news today, Nov. 15th, 2018, that countless poor people, living in subsidized housing, are suffering with ceilings collapsed, mold, rats and mice, and other unlivable conditions. One resident in a large apartment complex, was a college student with a young daughter. She expressed that she felt so stuck and had no way or options to move elsewhere.

One of the HUD (Housing And Urban Development) managers who was interviewed stated that he had only 5 inspectors and that it was impossible to keep with what was needed to force landlords to do repairs or to cancel their contracts timely.

One landlord was paid 1.5 million in rent from tax payers’ dollars. The journalist filmed him and posed a few questions to him but he refused. He entered his car and left. The reporters stated that he had been contacted several times, prior, and he never would talk to them.

The statistics noted were that the Secretary of HUD Carson has not done a competent job. The health and safety inspections are delayed and landlords keep getting paid.
The watchdog also found that work completed by HUD’s enforcement office dropped by 25 percent since 2016.

Secretary Carson has cut staff numbers.
